Quality construction not only keeps you comfortable, it
also saves you money. We’re proud that all Evergreen homes are ENERGY STAR® certified, meaning that the homes are 30 percent more energy efficient than homes built to the 1993 National Model Energy Code.

Homewise considered every aspect of each home to
ensure efficiency, from the strategic placement on the lot
to increase solar gain, to the energysaving appliances. Evergreen homeowners can expect to save an increasing amount on their utility bills as rates continue to rise over time.

At Homewise, we know smart, sustainable development and moderately-priced housing can go hand in hand. Evergreen is proof. Affordability is more than the price you pay for your home and the monthly mortgage payment; it’s also the long term operating costs of the home. From the site planning to the tight, energy-efficient home construction – every facet of Evergreen supports the homeowner’s responsible choice.

All Evergreen homes feature:

  • Tight construction to eliminate drafts and protect against cold, heat, moisture, pollution and noise.
  • High-performance, “low-e” windows to reduce heating and cooling costs.
  • ENERGY STAR certified appliances that reduce energy use.
  • Water-saving features including: low-water use dishwashers, instant hot water, low-flow shower heads and toilets, front yard xeriscape landscaping, and low-water using front loading washing machines.
  • Ventilation systems to improve indoor air quality.

Evergreen is designed with healthy living in mind too. Open space borders the site on three sides. Residents have easy access to the Tierra Contenta trail network which is ideal for walking or riding to nearby parks, schools and businesses. Evergreen Park, at the center of the development, is perfect for small gatherings and recreation.

You’ll find examples of sustainable development throughout Evergreen:

  • Xeriscaped front yards and common areas feature drought-tolerant trees and plants appropriate to our
    high desert climate.
  • A large pumice conservation pond underneath the park reduces evaporation while collecting storm water and runoff that is routed into the park from adjacent streets. The water is then used to irrigate the turf planted above.
  • The community’s location takes advantage of existing roads and open space trail systems which connect to shopping areas, work places, a library, a youth center, and schools.

Sustainable developments and energy efficient homes like those in Evergreen are easy to maintain, but they do require some understanding to gain the full financial benefits All new Evergreen homeowners will receive a “How to Live Sustainably Guide” to educate them on the intent of the integrated energy efficient and water-saving features as well as their proper use and maintenance. Affordability.

Comfort. Energy efficiency. Durable investment. It all comes together in Evergreen where smarter homes are built for better living.

Peace of mind. Lower ownership costs. Better performance. When you buy an ENERGY STAR certified home, you know you’ve made a smart decision. An independent ENERGY STAR home energy rater evaluates the computer modeled architectural plans of each Evergreen home to determine that the plans pass the stringent test for the ENERGY STAR rated performance. Once the home is substantially completed, the same independent ENERGY STAR home energy rater conducts specific tests to determine that the Evergreen home, as constructed, still passes the ENERGY STAR tests. Once these tests are completed to the satisfaction of the ENERGY STAR grading system, the Evergreen home receives an ENERGY STAR rating.

This certification is the government backed symbol for energy efficiency. Homes with this valuable stamp of approval combine all the features you want in a new home with solid construction that is certified to be at least 30 percent more efficient than the 1993 National Model Energy Code. Evergreen homes also feature appliances that carry the ENERGY STAR label.
