By offering down-payment assistance and low-interest mortgage loans, Teacherwise is providing opportunities to live and work in our community.
How does this program help a school employee buy a home?
Teacherwise makes low-interest mortgage loans available to school employees, helping lower monthly house payments to an affordable level. Down-payment and closing-cost assistance is also available to reduce the amount of money needed to purchase a home.
Can I get help repairing a home I already own?
Yes! Low-interest loans are now available for home repair and home improvement.
How can I qualify for assistance?
A Homewise counselor will meet with you and create an Action Plan designed specifically for your individual homeownership needs. Can I get help finding a rental in Santa Fe?
Yes! There is a rental referral list, which includes discounts for school employees, to help you identify your best rental options in Santa Fe.
Why was Teacherwise created?
To help school employees stay in Santa Fe by providing them with an affordable means to purchase or repair their homes and to strengthen community support for those who work with our children. What other services does Homewise offer?
Free one-on-one counseling and workshops for home buyers provide school employees with the tools for successful homeownership. Affordable, new home construction projects also create opportunities for homeownership.
