Author and social critic Barbara Ehrenreich participated in a discussion with community leaders hosted by Homewise. Dialogue centered on what Homewise Executive Director Mike Loftin calls “the four pillars to a healthy community”: access to economic opportunity, health care, education, and affordable housing.
Homewise is seeking New Mexico artisans to create handmade articles made in New Mexico to be installed in these homes. Examples of these are outdoor lighting fixtures, address tiles, door knockers, bathroom fixtures, and indoor wall sconces. These items must be durable and available in quantities of 100.
Like a car that depreciates as soon as you drive it off the lot, a mobile, or manufactured, home loses value as soon as the keys are handed over at closing. It’s understandable why you might choose mobile-home living over buying a single-family home. Number one being: Manufactured home prices are a lot lower.
